EuroVelo, the network of long-distance cycle routes that cross and connect Europe, is promoted on www.EuroVelo.com and included on OpenStreetMap, but there is no connection between these platforms and no collaboration between the EuroVelo team and the OpenStreetMap communities. We would like to propose the creation of a transnational group to work together on a more coherent integration of EuroVelo routes on OSM, particularly through harmonising the tagging across countries. This will improve the dissemination of updated information on various platforms and facilitate the gathering of GIS data related to each route, which allows for identifying where improvements are required, and ultimately helps the development of a high-quality cycle route network.
